The Estancia Transformation Journey Embracing a Fresh White Palette for Curb Appeal
Driving through Bonita Bay, residents and visitors alike have noticed a striking change along the route from the gatehouse to the towers. Estancia, once clad in shades of brown and tan, now shines with a fresh white exterior that breathes new life into the building’s appearance. This transformation has sparked positive reactions, with many praising the brighter, cleaner look and the way it enhances the sense of space in the lanais. This post explores the thoughtful process behind this change, the choices made, and how it elevates Estancia's overall curb appeal

Choosing the New Colors for Estancia
The journey to Estancia’s new look began in the summer of 2024 when the design committee was tasked with selecting updated exterior colors. The goal was to find a palette that would modernize the building while fitting harmoniously within the Bonita Bay community.
In September 2024, the committee met with a Sherwin-Williams representative to explore current paint options. They also visited Horizons, a nearby building that had recently undergone a similar transformation. Susan Smiley, the design chair at Horizons, shared valuable insights about color choices, application techniques, and lessons learned from their project.
After studying various paint schemes along the boulevard, the committee found inspiration in the tones used on our neighboring
building, Azure. These colors offered a fresh, clean look that would brighten Estancia’s appearance without clashing with the surrounding environment.
The final palette included:
Sherwin Williams Snowbound (SW 7004) for the main body of the building
Modern Grey (SW 7632) for the trim and lower garage areas
Pussy Willow (SW 7643) for the back planters and front columns
This combination created a balanced contrast that highlights architectural details while maintaining a soft, inviting feel. Residents have noted how the new white palette reflects sunlight beautifully, giving the building a fresh, airy presence. This change also enhances the natural landscaping, making the entire area feel more vibrant and well-cared-for.
Selecting the Right Contractor and Execution
Once the color palette was finalized, the project was put out to bid. A.M. Prestige Painting Company won the contract and began work on the transformation. Their expertise ensured that the painting process was efficient and met high standards of quality.
The team carefully prepared surfaces, applied primer, and used premium paints to guarantee durability and a flawless finish. As the work nears completion, the building’s exterior now reflects a fresh, modern aesthetic that residents appreciate every day.
Enhancing the Entry Experience
Beyond the paint, the design committee listened to resident feedback about the building’s front doors. The existing decals will be replaced with the Estancia logo, a simple but effective change that makes the entrance more welcoming and distinctive.

This update will help create a cohesive identity for Estancia and improve the first impression for visitors and residents alike. The logo adds a touch of elegance and professionalism without overwhelming the building’s clean lines.
Elevating Curb Appeal with Thoughtful Design
Curb appeal refers to how attractive a property looks from the street, and it plays a crucial role in shaping perceptions. A well-maintained exterior signals pride in ownership and can even increase property values.
In a high‑rise, however, curb appeal extends beyond the outside of the building. It includes the common spaces we pass through on our way home. The newly proposed interior refresh project is designed to carry the Estancia transformation indoors, further enhancing the look, feel, and function of our beautiful building.
Let’s continue to work together as residents to restore Estancia to the beautiful building it was when it was completed in 2002—this time with much‑needed updates, thoughtful design, and a renewed sense of pride and care.
